Chemical plants are reporting new batches of arsenic and other arsenic compounds in their supply chain.
The new compounds are being manufactured by a company called Aventis Biofuel, which is headquartered in Illinois.
The chemicals were previously used by some industrial and commercial companies.
The Associated Press first reported on the new batch.
Allegheny Chemicals announced the new batches on Thursday, but did not say when they would be available to consumers.
Aventes Biofuel said in a statement that the company will make all products that are compliant with the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) arsenic standards.
Alaska regulators have been working with the EPA to ensure that Aventi Biofuel complies with EPA standards for arsenic.
